Orma Passi di Orma 2022 & Mitolo G.A.M. Shiraz 2019
Mitolo Winery, established in 1999 by Frank Mitolo, is located in the McLaren Vale region of South Australia. Founder Frank Mitolo drew inspiration from his Italian heritage and especially his horticultural background – he is the 4th generation of a family of agriculturists. Frank’s dedication to quality and experimentation quickly turned his passion for winemaking into a full-time pursuit. In 2001, acclaimed winemaker Ben Glaetzer became a partner. Together, Frank and Ben have focused on producing wines that express purity of flavour, show elegance of structure, and maintain a rich, powerful complexity.
Orma Winery, founded by Antonio Moretti Cuseri in 2005, is located in the esteemed Bolgheri region of Tuscany. Antonio Moretti, a wine enthusiast, was inspired to establish the winery after a revelatory experience in October 2004. While driving back from Montalcino through dense fog, he emerged onto Maremma road and eventually to Bolgheri. Struck by the area's potential for wine production, he chose to invest in the region.
The Moretti Cuseri family's passion for Bordeaux blends began at their historic family estate, Tenuta Sette Ponti in Castiglion Fibocchi, with the iconic wine Oreno. Recognizing the potential of the Tuscan coast, they expanded their love for Cabernet and Merlot to Bolgheri, an area with an ideal climate and soil for wine production. Orma Winery is strategically positioned on the Bolgherese Provincial Road, a renowned Wine Road, near historic vineyards like Ornellaia and Sassicaia. This location benefits from a unique combination of climate, soil, and grape varieties, making it a prime area for viticulture. The Moretti Cuseri family, now in its third generation, continues to embrace Bolgheri’s strengths, producing wines that reflect the excellence and distinctiveness of the region.
