Description
Grapes for this wine come from a careful selection in different vineyards of Tuscany. The vines are grown on sandy and calcareous-clay soils, the vineyards are trained to the Guyot system.
The 2022 vintage began with a dry, mild winter and a cool spring with low rainfall. From mid-May to mid-August, there was no rainfall and high temperatures during the day. Careful daily soil management helped reduce water stress in the vineyards. In mid-August, heavy rainfall allowed the grapes to reach perfect ripeness and remain healthy by the end of the growing season. The harvest began in the first week of September, when the grapes had reached an ideal organoleptic balance and ripeness.
Vinification
A few days of cold maceration allowed a delicate pre-fermentative extraction from the skins. The grapes are fermented in temperature controlled concrete tanks at 24°C. Malolactic fermentation occurs spontaneously.
